Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor who is best known for playing House in Fox's the medical thriller House. Her family was from Wayne where she was a part of a traditional Jewish tradition. When she was 18, she emigrated into New York City to study at the Tisch School of the Arts. However, very quickly she was active in the club scene, and was able to make enough headlines to be recognized by the media, concurrently, becoming aware of the devastating effect of AIDS. She used both her experience in the music industry and public recognition to make and appear in a musical of her own, Positive Me. Awake In the Wild Side was her next assignment. After Awake on The Wild Side stopped being aired, she began acting in movies and on television, initially in short role. As time went on, her work in acting grew.
